Statistics show that 61% of children from low-income families do not have books at home. ASAS-LA's literacy program provides books to schools & inspires students to read!

The “Millionaires Club” is a school-wide initiative to encourage students to pick a book, magazine, newspaper and read. The overarching goal for students is to read a million words which is equivalent to 25 chapter books. ASAS-LA is working to promote the program and reward the students through incentives for their efforts. Our organization is also working to encourage parents to model the behavior of reading and make the experience a family-oriented endeavor.

For the next year, 5% of all sales from online book store, MonkeyReader.com will benefit ASAS-LA literacy programs
